    I have a machine 10.4.11
A client broght me here apple which is running OSX 10.4.11 but it only has adobe products that she can use. She got this from a family member no software. So I looked up online and it is an Intel Imac (Late 2006). It has an EMC 2118 so another reason why I say it is intel. So I put a power supply into it because yes it would come on but only for a matter of a minute. That problem is solved. I also upgraded the ram from two 512MB chips to 1GB and the other 2GB and it works great. Now I would love to rebuild this thing but I have no disks. I have a Mac Pro Laptop 2012 is there a way to make up a startup disk from that or where can I get one to help complete this job? I can't believe Mac who says they give all there software away unless you are in this situation? Any inputs would be a very big help....

Want to get this machine out of my shop.

    Welcome to our forums.

Suggest buying a Snow Leopard (10.6.X) from Apple for $19.99 (on line store) and update the machine to that version. Snow Leopard is probably as far as she would want to go with that old a machine. She can't run anything later than Lion (10.7.X) on that machine anyway which is not a very good version of OS X to use.

And no, you can not use your MacBook Pro to make a startup disk for her.

I don't know of many users who would have even put less than what you have into such an iMac.

It has to be one of these two models:
    http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac..._keywords=2118

As you will see it is limited to:
    Maximum RAM: 4 GB
    Maximum MacOS: X 10.7.5

You can get the recommended OS X 10.6.x Snow Leopard Install disks from Apple for about $20.00usd.

You or she might be better off just selling it as it is and I don't know if it would sell for much more than $50.00, but depending on where you live, maybe more.

PS: You must have quite the repair shop to just happen to have a spare power supply and some RAM that would fit that iMac!!!

Yes, but note that Snow Leopard 10.6.6 is required before she can access the Mac App Store and receive updates. The Snow Leopard DVD purchased from Apple is 10.6.3 so that will have to be updated to 10.6.6 which can be done direct from Apple.

And then carry on with the other updates unit all are done and you end up with v. 10.6.8!! That's the final end for Snow Leopard.
