I have a Mac mini (10.6) with a few external drives connected to it and shared, when I try to access them from my MBP over Wifi, I'm always greeted with this:

Even though I put the correct login (it does work), and I tick the 'remember' box, It always shows this prompt on access, and defaults to Guest account

Is there another setting I should check?

I suspect it's just the nature of using the 'guest' account. My next step would be to actually use a created account (like ShareUser), set the appropriate perms on the host and then use that account for the connection.

Also, be sure that your Macs are up to date on Software Update as there are often updates to SAMBA (assuming you're using SMB for sharing).
Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Sorry, thats misleading, I took the screenshot before I entered my login, I'm not using the guest account, but the screenshot shows that the prompt does not remember the login I entered the last time

OS X doesn't use Samba anymore for Windows sharing (see here).

I might be missing something here but the password box isn't checked so this would explain why it's not remembered.
