Question Windows XP bootable from external drive?
    Hi again everyone,

I'm repartitioning my hd on my macbook to have both Tiger and Leopard os's (thanks for your help Louishen and others!)

I've had to delete my 10gb xp partition because I didn't have space for all 3 partitions on the single disk...

so my next question is... can I install and boot to a XP partition on an external drive on USB2 ?

    Thanks for your help!

I don't know? I do have XP on an internal HDD but I can pop it into my external case and let you know! I'll wright you back in about 20.

Unfortunately, no. This is a limitation of Windows and not the Mac or Boot Camp. Windows can only be installed on an internal drive.
Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Install it via VirtualBox, Parallels or VMware and then you can store the OS partition on any drive you like - and run Windows simultaneously with OS X.

No problem! Just as I started the shut down I realized the my external HDD case is hooked you in a way so my Mac Pro see's it as an internal HDD (eSATA). Oh well!
