I use contacts to send email to groups. But, I cannot add another contact to a small group I have. I click on + for new contact, fill in the details, click done and the contact is not in the group. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

    Reboot?
Make an entirely new group with all the contacts?

If the shoe fits, buy it in every colour.

If this is a group that changes regularly you might find Start Groups useful. With that set up you specify criteria and anyone you add to Contacts that matches the criteria gets added to the group.

Thanks, rebooting worked. Second question, how do I export a group to another person using email?

The following steps should work work: Export the Contacts as a single vCard. Steps are near the bottom of the article. The remainder of the article explains how to email the resulting file.

Good work, Sly. Stayed with the OP all the way through and got things sorted.

Olyman lobbed a nice fat pitch right over the plate. Had to hit that one. I've had to do it once or twice. Have to admit it was faster to look up the steps than to do it and write it up.

That's one reason I like the group features in macOS apps. It's easy to use that to do things like send one email to everyone in a group or build a group of contacts and AirDrop them to another iPhone/Mac user.

Give this a quick read. I posted it in another thread yesterday and I think it will fix things. The import thing is to export the file as a card file not as an archive file.

I should have posted this when I read this thread the first time. I almost expected it to happen. I think it's a common mistake.

To keep from having to reboot every time, what I do is to create the contact first as a contact, then drag/drop it on the group. Works every time. Tried creating the new user IN the group, like you. Never worked first time.
