I have a few Notes that I share with my wife. I am the owner of all of them.

If I edit a Note I get a notice that she edited the Note. That's wrong. If she edits a Note, I get no notice at all.

    How do I fix this?

I edited the Note _Shopping and immediately got the following:

Did you see this, "And you can tell when someone else has made edits. Look for next to the note in your notes list. " from here, Share your notes - Apple Support. I guess you won't get a "Notification" per se, but you will be able to tell if someone did edit it.

Yes, in this case the yellow dot is next to my name as I’m the one who most recently edited the note. But the notification says that my wife edited the note. That’s not correct.

I’d like to fix it so that I get no notice if I edit the note and a notice telling me if my wife has edited a note.

The Apple Support document doesn’t seem to cover this.

Ok, that is strange. Did you see toward the bottom of that page, where it says "Manage who you share with", there is an option to Hide Alerts?

Yeah. But I want alerts; especially for the family shopping list

You might try opening a chat with an Apple tech support rep. Just head for Apple.com, click on Support on the top menu bar and follow along to where you can elect to chat.
