What is it with Google Search showing SO MANY ads in search results???
Has anyone noticed how there are A LOT of ads posted as search results when searching for something on google? Almost all links show as actual 'ads' or store links! It's SOOOOOO annoying, and is now driving me crazy how a simple search will now fill the first page with nothing but useless ads and store links as the search results. I literally had to go to page 4 to get something simple that would normally automatically get shown within the first couple links on the first search page. Ads and ad-block detectors are seriously ruining the online experience on most popular sites.

I haven't used Google consistently for a long time because of their tracking and because of the very situation you've encountered. It doesn't help that some websites have articles which are a hybrid cross between a How-To article and ad for their software. After all it's the ads, and their ability to drive people to them that forms much of Google's business model.

    I'm currently using DuckDuckGo.

You have the ability to use different search engines. I have DuckDuckGo as my default search engine, but I keep google bookmarked, just in case. I also don't use Chrome, except with Netflix/Amazon Prime Video, and of course AdBlock and Ghostery installed.

Yes, I know I can use a different search engine, but that's completely besides the point.

My post was regarding a change that has recently occurred within Google search that now accumulates a MASS amount of specifically targeted ads against key words in your search. This is something new. Previously, the top 1 to 3 links were reserved for advertised ads. Now, literally every single link on the first page was marked as 'AD'.

And after some research, it appears Google has removed the "organic" search logic, and prioritized ad placement over quick search results in order to generate an expected $100 million extra per year. I hope they get the opposite results.
