Unlock, which is a Chrome extension. Works great.

Hey welcome to the mac-forums Lee.

BTW: I couldn't find the town or city of "Upstate" anywhere in SC using googlemaps or Apple Maps.

    Unless this is your place:

    Have a great Easter weekend.

Hi Patrick & Lee_Bo - well, he may just mean the northern part of SC (Rock Hill - Spartanburg - Greenville) - a few weeks ago, we were on a short vacation on Kiawah Island, SC - I-26/I-77 passes Columbia and Rock Hill - Dave

Thanks, but with all the Apple and photography sites I frequent, TapaTalk just works better.

I'm currently running Adblock Plus with Safari under Mojave. I started dealing with an ad problem on YouTube and got that sorted. In the meantime I decided to whitelist this forum rather than block all ads. Since then I've noticed a couple of things:

    1. The white space at the top of a page when ads are blocked does indeed appear to be due to the Amazon ad which is not very distracting at all.
    2. If you are looking at the list of new posts and click the link to follow one of the threads and ad may appear in a pop up window (trying to kill that as it is annoying).
    3. About every third or fourth pop up has asked the user to update Flash. I personally would not click the link in either ad. Looking at the url for both ads I'm not sure that either one goes directly to Adobe's download area. I'm not sggesting that either ad has nefarious intentions but I'm exercising an abundance of caution.

The free Version of AdGuard (version 1.5.14) I have does not put an extension into Safari. It appears to be working system wide on all browsers. I have disabled all my other Tracking and ad blocking extensions for Safari, Chrome, WaterFox, Firefox, Vivaldi and Opera.

On Vivaldi I thought I should check to see if MF's looked any different and accidentally found this:

I did not know there was such a site.

This is our site and you can see in the bottom right the panel I get on all browsers when I click the little shield icon which appears temporally, bottom right on loading a page.

So far I'm pretty happy with this app and it's the free version.

You will notice AdBlock and Ghostery are still working on Vivaldi for the second pic. I disabled them just now with no change to appearance of the page but I note Ghostery picked up two trackers and AdBlock one ad. Switching them off made no apparent difference but who knows? Time will tell.

Rod, They started a Mac-Forums (.org), back when they thought the original was gong to shut down.

Yes but it's still there. I kinda thought it would be gone I guess. Is anybody using that site?
Sorry, I guess I could just login and see for myself.

Those forums (Mac Forums) have been around for quite a while. Many folks used to confuse them with us.

I believe they went out of business some years ago and am surprised to see them back up.

And no Bob... they have nothing to do with our Facebook Group.

Dennis can probably give you a better history of those other forums than I can.

Wow, amazing I haven't come across them before but that's what you get with Duck Duck Go, different results. Our forum was there too, just a couple of hits down.

So is macforums.org still running too? I couldn't find it in a search.

    As for "Mac Forums".....

I just checked their active posts. The ones you referred to are actually Apple News Items which is why they appear current. The participation threads are all dead it seems with the latest being sometime in Nov 2018. Also their welcome thread goes back to 2015.

And the site is not secure.
