    PowerPoint 2011 Hangs up
Lately when using PowerPoint 2011 in presentation mode, after staying on one slide for 15 minutes or so, the app stops responding and must be restarted. Any tips?

Help us to help you.... What Mac (year and model), which version of OS X are you running? And have you kept Office 2011 up to date with the latest security patches and fixes? Make sure you have enough memory and hard drive space. It almost sounds like PP is running out of memory.

It's a MacBook Air from 2012, running El Capitan and with 4 GB of RAM and 88 GB of drive space available. It's been fine for years, only recently starting to have this problem. PowerPoint updates itself automatically, so it's current. Thanks!

Check to make sure you're up to date even though MS Office updates are set on automatic: 14.6.4 is the latest version. Also, 4 GB of memory normally is enough to run Office without any problems, however, what else are you running or have open at the same time? Also, you might want to boot to recovery (command + r), run utilities, Disk Utility, and verify - check your SSD.

I'm running version 14.6.4, and it hangs up even when PowerPoint is the only program running. I have to reboot the computer to get it to work again. It seems to happen most often if I leave one slide on for an extended time, say 10-15 minutes while we discuss it. I ran the disk utility and it gave a clean bill of health.

OK, it looks like your SSD is in good health and memory is not an issue. The only other thing I can suggest is to reinstall Office. Unfortunately, you can not just remove PP and reinstall it. The Mac version does not work the same way as the Windows version does. You will have to completely remove Office and reinstall. Instructions for removing Office 2011 are found in this MS KB article and must be followed for best results. Make a backup of everything first. Also remember that you will need your serial number code in order to activate Office 2011 again after reinstalling it. The removal of Office does not remove your presentations, personal templates, or documents. However, backup everything just in case.
