Thread: iTunes help

    iTunes help
Ok, this is completely doing my head so I'm reverting to help.

I have a compilation album that I've ripped off my original CD's (1,2 and 3) and placed into a folder, when Itunes adds it it creates three albums, two for existing artists and one for various.

I just want one album to show but it seems itunes is too clever for it's own good, is there anything I can do?

    Thanks

In iTunes, if you tag them all with the same data (album and artist primarily), it should reorganize the music such that they share a common folder.

I tagged them as all the same Album and it made no difference, Artist will be different because it's a compilation.

If you select all three "albums" in itunes, then hit cmd+i, it will present you with a metadata screen. If you change the album name to one consistent title, it will combine them under one album in grid/album view, and same applies if you rename the artist for artist view.

Im guessing in the "album" it says CD1,2,3 or something, which is why its not combining them properly.

I've selected all the items for the album and did what you suggested but it still shows multiple of the same album. I'm let with a 'Various Artists' and a dozen or so with individual names but not just the one ablum

Are you in artist view or album view?
