Question Zeus 2.1, nVidia GPU overclocking on a mac
    Sup Guys,

By chance I have found an application called Zeus...
groths.org this is where you could download it from....
Now the thing is I know there is the nVidia tool to overclock their graphics cards in windows XP, Vista and Win7. However this is the first I have seen to exist for mac.
Does anyone know anything about it?? Are their any risks with this program as it seems to be somekinda 18 year developer
just like to know if someones tried it etc, would be nice to know
im not sure if i should get it atm :S
also would this void the warranty somehow?? you never know with apple what voids the warranty and what dosnt

    cheers guys

"Zeus" is a "flashing tool" for flashing non-Macintosh cards to wok on a Mac. From the website you linked:

    "What is Zeus?

Zeus is a Mac GPU Flashing Tool. It can write a new firmware on to your graphic card.
But it can do much more then that. You can patch your drivers to add support for excotic cards..."

Not something to try for the "faint-heated" or the inexperienced!

I'm not seeing the screenshot you mentioned. In my post above I was just mentioning what the website says about the purpose of this "Zeus" app:

    groths.org Zeus

If it's primary purpose is to help with the ROM flashing of non-Macintosh video cards...I'm thinking there aren't too many members here doing much of that (but there may be a few brave souls).

Flashing the firmware to some untried and untested (on an iMac) thing you found on the internet and damaging the video card so that it no longer works?

    Yes.

There is not a single manufacturer of any hardware that covers what the hardcore hareware enthusiasts do to their equipment. You are on your own.

If you want to know more about this stuff, you need to be asking the group that came up with it. Better yet, what you really need to do is build yourself a nice Win gaming rig and experiment away. At least there, you would only be screwing up a $100-$300 video card and not a $1500+ computer.
I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

And here would be the place to get your questions answered related to the above.

I always ask these questions outta pure curiosity, and of course because id like to know as much as possible, im afraid to do something and screw up so know i know more and i wont bother trying it
    cheers guys

the nVidia tool to overclock the GPU on windows. i do have it installed as its part of the nVidia monitoring tools package thingi on windows. i have xp installed on Bootcamp. i've never overclocked the GPU, couldn't get myself to do it
can you if you know any, give me any pros and cons do overclock my GPU?even if i just overclock it to the GT 330m's native speeds??
