iPad and tethering thru cell phone
I have the iPad 6th generation and I got it with WiFi only, because thatís all the Walmart by me had. I got my bf the new iPad Air, with cellular because he really is much more dedicated to work than I am and will often use it on the train on the way to work and home for work stuff. I have tethered my iPad to my cell phone to use it on the train when I was stuck on the train going to work alone and the train hit someone, just to be able to do work stuff for the 3 hour delay on the train that day and it worked great. Just wondering what the performance drawbacks are from one with cellular.

The biggest drawback is that you are draining the battery of two devices while tethered. Other than that, your Internet connection is only going to be as fast as your cellular connection and the Wifi is always going to faster than whatever your cellular connection is going to be.

Most trains in the UK have power sockets and, sometimes, USB charging points.

All you fancy people with those fancy ports. Not sure we have that in our trains here. Some of the trains here have WiFi, but not all.

Some of the trains here have power plugs and supposed to have WiFi but usually the WiFi doesn’t work
