what is an alternative to pencil gen 1?
I just bought a 10.5" iPad Pro, it seems like I am the only one who is not an artist and wants a pointing device.

-I like controlling the tablet with a stylus, just because its more accurate and keeps finger prints off
-no artistic sketching or drawing whatsoever
    -don't care about pressure sensitivity
-just want to mark up PDF's, highlight, write comments in margins, etc.

I am using one of those cheap pens with the rubber nubs and it is almost accurate enough for what I want to do, but isn't precise enough for writing. I looked at the Logitech Crayon and its only about $20 cheaper than the Apple Pencil....you lose pressure sensitivity which I don't need...but that's a lot to give up for only a $20 savings.

    Any suggestions?

I usually do an internet search for "best", like this, The best iPad stylus: top iPad styluses for drawing and note-taking | Creative Bloq. Then read some reviews on the different choices.

I assume you don't want or can afford Apple's Pencil which comes with this iPad at an extra cost?

It should be noted that Apple currently sells refurbished Pens for the iPad Pro. Check the Apple on line refurbished store. The Pens are fully warranted and have a new battery installed. Savings can vary but generally are around 15%.

I thought the iPad Pro used the pencil v2, with the iPad and iPad Air only using pencil v1?

The 1st Gen iPad Pro, uses the Pencil ver 1. Newer iPad Pro models use newer Pencil versions.

Have you looked into or considered any of the Adonit stylus offerings??

    Have a read here:
