    2. Said iPad has now possibly gone down the drain so to speak.
    3. This is now a good excuse for the wife to get a new computer. On behalf of husbands everywhere that does not compute.

Any explanations appreciated since they are probably hilarious.

    Well, yes, you are correct!!!
But he caught on right away--as in--"why can't I have the new computer?" I haven't thought of an answer for that!

Simple solution — purchase TWO NEW, or at least NEWER used WORKING Computers.

Smart fellow. But then again spouses tend to be that way.

My wife has gotten each of my previous iPads. Twice now she's gotten iPads with cracked screens that used to belong to me. I'd like to get a new one but can'r figure out how to get it into the house. She swears the next new iPad is hers.

Maybe it's time to change and she probably deserves a nice new un-cracked one for a change for all the nice things she does for you, and your problem would be over.

    Really!!

Good thought but not entirely true. Since we can't afford two new iPads at the moment I would be stuck with my current one. The screen is currently untracked but it only has 16 GB of space IIRC. In this equation I still get the back end of the deal so to speak.

Edited to add--just read it was a sensor.

I have one more question--when the Apple guy did the diagnostics he did say there was one thing that came up. What is the tiny dot right above the camera lens on the iPad 2? He didn't indicate what he thought may be wrong but said that was what showed up.
Today, I did reboot it and also turned iCloud off since it was blamed for crashes.
Slydude, you can have this one if I have to get hubs another one. Maybe you could fix it. At least it has 32 GB of space,

Simples - he has low, or no, usage! The major user gets the new one.
