    iPad has a Poltergeist?
My iPad is behaving as if haunted by a poltergeist. I use it mainly for Youtube and podcasts. I've got no extra Apps at all. It really is behaving as though someone has taken it over and is flicking between the podcasts, changing between them, on, off, etc. etc.

I've tried restoring factory settings - but then I did restore from iCloud. I've tried cleaning the screen.

    Is there a known bug?

Hmmm? There are many versions of iPads, which also use many versions of iOS or now iPadOS. We would need to know much more relevant information which you failed to provide?

Not a known bug, but it could be something in your particular iPad. As Bob said, tell us more about your iPad. When you did the factory reset did the problems occur before you did the restore? Or did they come back when you restored? What apps are suffering from the issues?

Thanks. The problem is exactly the same after restore as before. Did you mean between the reset and the restore? I didn't wait long enough to see if there was a difference.

my 6th gen iPad randomly starts playing music and scaring me half to death

I've checked everything and turned Siri firmly off but it still does it.

Is it safe to use this iPad currently - does it have some sort of malicious Spyware on it?

Just a few thoughts on some things to check as possible culprits.

    1. Is this only happening on YouTube or does the same thing happen on other sites?
    2. Is it possible that the affected sites have autoplay set?
    3. What apps are running as this is happening?
    4. Are you using earbuds or a headset that mimic the gesture-driven behavior of the Air Pods? I have such a headset and certain gestures will stop whatever media I'm playing and one gesture will launch music and start a playlist even if some other audio is playing.

Back up the iPad, then do a reset to get back to factory settings. See if the problem continues or goes away. If it continues, it's something wrong with the iPad (hard to tell what that might be, but probably a hardware issue). If it goes away, then the problem is something you have installed or configured on the iPad. You can try adding your apps one at a time from the App Store to test and when the problem returns, you will be able to know which one to get rid of.

That said, I notice on my iPad that sometimes I don't have to touch the screen to make changes, just have my fingers near enough to the surface to change the capacitance and the screen thinks it has been touched.

I have noticed my daughters' iPhone 6 (iOS 12), where the screen flashes off, for 1-3 seconds. I was using it for a few weeks when my iPhone 8 screen was smashed, and I knew I would be getting a new iPhone. I found nothing would alleviate this issue.

    The following may also be the cause of my issues;
I know the iPhone has the original battery.
Also, the iPhone was dropped in a sink filled with dishwashing for 1-3 seconds as well, but has been otherwise (except screen flashing)working as expected.
