    iPad requires re-activation
SOLVED thanks to a loooong session with Apple support.

A few years ago I lost my iPad. There was an iPad with my name on it in Find my iPad/iPhone so I deleted it thinking it was that iPad. My wife's mini iPad, which may have started off life as mine, now requires reactivation. I've entered her user name and password, which works on her iPhone and iMac but it isn't recognised.

I've tried to back it up from a previous backup on her iMac but again her user id and password are not recognised.

Needless to say I will be in deep trouble if I can't resolve this! Help!

I've now logged on to "Find my iPad" on my iMac. It is showing my wife's iPad but says it is offline although it is showing a wifi signal even though it is deactivated.

Did you try your Apple ID and password? Explain the steps you took that tells you the iPad needs reactivation?

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.

    Hi Bob,
Thanks to Apple Support the problem has been resolved. The lovely lady who sorted it took me through a whole series of steps culminating in removal of the deactivated iPad from "find my iPad". I can't remember all the steps to get there but, if it helps anybody else I will post it.

As far as your specific question is concerned my wife kept on getting messages asking her to log onto her Apple ID but every time her ID and password were entered they were rejected. Today it deactivated completely. In my first session with Apple Support we tried adding a two factor authorisation code but it still didn't work.
