How To Downgrade from Beta to Latest Public Release?
I want to stop getting Public Beta releases on my iPhone 6s.

I deleted the beta profile, did a factory reset of the phone and restored from an encrypted iTunes backup.

In order to immedately go to the current release I know that I have to reset the iPhone.

But, when I try to do that from iTunes I get a message that says:

There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "mPhone". The requested resource was not found

When I click the "More Info" button I am directed to an Error 404 page: "The page youíre looking for canít be found."

I do not have the firewall enabled. I do have Little Snitch, but I have tried this with Little Snitch disabled with the same result.

So, how do I restore my iPhone to the latest Public Release?

Turned out to be a bit of a nightmare.

In order to downgrade I had to put the iPhone in DFU mode. This requires rather exact timing which was hard for me.

Once I was back at 12.2 I discovered that iTunes refused to restore from a backup that was made under the 12.3 beta. I ended up having to use a backup that was nearly a year old and manually update everything I'd done since then.

I have since downloaded iMazing which may have been able to restore from one of the 12.3 encrypted backups.

Yeah, sorry about that. I also learned the hard way you can only restore backups of the same version. One of the many reasons I got off beta and back on official.

    Right.

The only reason I got on to beta releases is because iOS 11 introduced a nasty GPS "bug" for some older iPhones, like my 6s. This was a serious problem for me. The 12 beta fixed the "bug", which was great, but the consequences of using the beta turned out to be not so great.
