Time setting when travelling between time zones
This might be a long explanation, so apologies now.
We recently travelled from the UK to Cyprus. My iPhone 6S (IOS 9.3.5) was set to UK time. When we arrived in Cyprus, it wouldn't pick up the timezone automatically, so I set it manually. All seemed OK. Until a reminder I had set in the calendar came up. It was wrong. I had set the reminder to go off 1 hour before the required time, but it went off 1 after the required time. Cyprus is 2 hours ahead of the UK at the moment. When I checked the reminder setting in Calendar, I noticed that it quoted GMT next to the setting.
So, do your reminders retain the time zone setting used when they are first set up and not adjust to any new time zone you may travel to?
    Anyone seen this scenario?

I am using iOS 10, and I went into Settings > Privacy > Location Services. It looks like Reminders only accesses your location when the app is in use.

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.

neilf, a couple of things to check.

Settings/calendar/Time zone override. That should be OFF, so that the local time will be detected. There is another setting under General/Date & Time that you can set however you want it to work.

This article is pretty good at explaining how it should work: http://www.ivanexpert.com/blog/2012/...on-the-iphone/

    Brilliant MacInWin!!!!
    That's the setting I needed.
I wonder, even after all these years with iPhones, how many other settings I don't know about.
    Thanks again.

Here's another article that also explains the time and time zones and appointments etc. when traveling:

Apple's Help is not exactly helpful on that topic and not easily understood.

Anyway, glad that Jake solved your problem for you.
