Thanks Patrick
Very interesting info this shows that i should
be able to use in Europe 5Ghz from chanel 36 to 140
but i can only set the extreme manualy from 36 to 48
this happened after my intenet provider changed my
router.
10-09-2019, 08:49 AM #4On my Airport Extreme with my region set to United States, I have a number of channels beyond 48 that I can set. I'm running firmware version 7.8.1 on it right now. What region is your router set to?

Hi Ashwin
A very good question my new router is broadcasting a
land code EU and not DK for Denmark my old router
broadcast land code DK this gave me 5Ghz chanels
36-to 140 the new router with land code EU 5Ghz chanels
36 to 48, my internet provider told me the new router
was working ok after a long talk they said they will
change it when they update to new firmware,
but is there no way to change it? and the land code
EU is not found in any lists i can find on internet.

Does anybody know if extreme firmware updates from
Apple different from land to land maybe the USA firmware
is different from Denmark? or maybe the extreme is a
different version depending which country it is bought
in?
10-09-2019, 10:14 AM #7That's entirely possible since I cannot select any European region codes on my Extreme.

It's probably time for you to look for a newer router, one which supports the channels you want and are available in Denmark. Apple is no longer updating or producing any AE products.

Hi the router i use is provided by my internet provider
who tells me i cant use other routers to give me internet
throughput, so i am stuck between a rock and a hard place.
10-11-2019, 08:51 AM #11That is very odd since all the providers in the US also give us a cable/FiOS/DSL modem that now includes a routers, but most of us have separate routers on top of that. I have a Verizon FioS modem/router that they gave me, I disabled the WiFi capability on that and used my Airport Extreme as my router. I recently switched to a TP Link router from the Extreme to provide better support for the growing list of devices in my home now.
So your ISP might be lying to you. Yes, you cannot swap out the modem, but the router is one step beyond that.--

Hi Ashwin
Thanks for your reply, my set up is a Nokia fiber modem from that there is
a net rj45 cable to wan on my new ip router the wifi on this is turned off
from this router i have wired to a few things plus my extreme used as
wifi.
Have tried to use my old ip router from the phone net but it gave me no internet.
10-11-2019, 11:29 AM #13And your ISP gave you the fiber modem AND the Apple Extreme? If so, they've hardcoded the MAC address of the Apple Extreme to the Fiber Modem and only that will do the job.

10-11-2019, 04:56 PM #15OK, do you have?
fiber modem -> kaon router -> Apple Extreme-> WiFi to all devices
