Geez, didn't realize so many people on this forum had such ridiculously fast internet speeds I pay $66/month for about 130 down and 11 or so up. I feel like I'm getting ripped off when bigdaveindubai is paying $70 for 900 up and down. Sheesh.

That seems to be the case for many but most often it's not stated if the high speed (bandwidth) is actually needed or used or what the cost is.

For our area, we pay about $78.00cdn for just the 35.5dn/6.5up unlimited data as part of a bundle which I feel is a bit on the expensive side. But similar area's Internet costs are usually more expensive in Canada than the US.

Yeah, I definitely don't need those blazing-fast speeds. I don't even need what I have now. Until they upgraded my modem (and only because the old one was failing), I was around 65 down and 5 up and honestly I don't perceive any difference now, but then again I'm not running a live-stream or have multiple devices streaming/downloading lots of content, etc. Just wish my bill were closer to $50/month instead of creeping up towards $70+ (it's gone up $6 within the last 6 months). I'm with Spectrum (Charter) and the only other real game in town that I know of is AT&T, but I've had nothing but poor experiences with them in the past (constant outages and slow, apathetic support).

If AT&T has some cheaper rate, not just a three month reduced price offer, then call you Spectrum Customer Support and ask them what rate they can offer you as a loyal customer with the pretense that you'll switch without some reduction.

You never know what they may do or say but often they'll do something. Even if you have to sign an agreement.

And this is a GOOD day. Doesn't get any better than this. Costs me about $40 a month.

I/We sure wouldn't mind getting that at that price, especially if it was in Canadian dollars. Nice.

We used to pay about double that price for less speeds until we asked for a price break.

Around here we have Frontier FIOS (formerly Verizon), Spectrum (formerly Charter) AT&T, and Comcast. Depends on where you're located in the Metro area. Prices are pretty much the same for all the ISPs which include high speed internet, TV, and VOIP. Average price for a bundle (Internet, TV, and VOIP) is around $150 - $170 per month. TV prices vary because of the premium channels like HBO, Stars, NFL, NHL, etc.

Around here my water, sewage, garbage monthly bill is sometimes higher than my TV, Internet. Water prices here in Fort Worth and also Dallas are ridiculous. Don't even try to keep your lawn green in the Summer! LOL

Utility costs plus petrol and food are one of the main reasons we are living here in Bali. Proximity to Australia and the climate are also major reasons but it's the cost of living that really makes the difference.

    Per month;
    Electricity (prepaid) $100.00
    Gas/12Kg bottle $13.50
    Mobile phones $20.00
    Water and Internet
    including line rental,
    home phone and
    Indihome
    entertainment
    Package $100.00
    Electricity $200.00
    Petrol approx $30.00
    Pool service $40.00

    Total AU$503.00

    Anybody jealous yet?
