When thinking about November deals, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday probably come to mind. However, these aren't the only days to shop — the whole month of November can bring pretty awesome savings.
Prep your shopping plan now with our below guide on what to buy in November.
The 8 Best Things to Buy in Early November

Halloween Candy

Any sort of holiday-themed decor and candy goes on sale immediately after the holiday passes, and Halloween is no exception. We expect modest discounts as Halloween nears, but once it's over, you'll likely see giant bags of candy at up to 50% off. Discounts should get even better the longer you wait; the caveat is the selection will also become limited as time passes.
As soon as Halloween is over, giant bags of candy will likely be up to 50% off.
Halloween Costumes

Likewise, expect stores to offer as much as 30% off costumes on Halloween itself, but if you hold off, you could put together an entire outfit for Halloween 2020 for a fraction of what it would have cost you earlier. Once again, it's important to note that the selection will diminish quickly as time goes on.
Halloween Decor

If you're hoping to stock up on decorations before next year's Allhallows Eve, know that stores could take at least 50% off leftover items in November. We could see even higher discounts in some cases. But by the time those arrive, not many decorations will likely be left.
Plan ahead to shop day-after Halloween sales, as you'll want to jump on the savings as soon as you can. Items will sell out fast, and if you miss out, you'll be stuck waiting until next year.
Cheap New Year's Eve Flights

The holidays aren't even upon us yet, but now's the time to look for your flights for New Year's Eve. Airfare app Hopper advises booking your flight no later than November 5. It also notes that a good price for round-trip airfare is around $350.

Back-to-School Supplies

By now, most schools are well into their first semester, so it might not even cross your mind to look for new supplies. But if you held off when back-to-school sales popped up in August, you might find the gear your kids were begging for then is now significantly reduced in price. If the price is right, and your child's old backpack or lunch box will suffice a little longer, you could even gift them these practical pieces for the holidays. Then when they start back in January, they'll have shiny new gear to show off.
Veterans Day Sale Items

Veterans Day is probably the last chance to really shop sales before the Black Friday rush goes into high gear. We don't expect them to be better than Black Friday's overall, but you still could find a few gems if you take the time to dig.
Department stores are solid places to look for Veterans Day sales. Last year, JCPenney offered a military discount worth an extra 10% off in-store, and Kohl's had a veterans-themed coupon code that took 15% off your entire purchase. Macy's was in on the action, as well. It had one coupon code that knocked $10 off $25 orders, and another that cut up to 20% off select items.

Baking Supplies

If you enjoy baking for the holidays, early November is the time to begin watching your local grocery ads closely. You might get lucky enough to find actual bakeware on sale, but even if you don't, this is when stores begin discounting supplies for upcoming holiday dinners. Look for grocery items like flour, sugar, chocolate chips, canned pumpkin, and cranberry sauce to go on sale.
Seasonal Fruits and Veggies

You might not be thinking of produce as a good buy in the colder months, but there's plenty to take advantage of. Shop the best of winter veggies in November, including beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, leeks, mushrooms, parsnips, pumpkins, rutabagas, spinach, sweet potatoes, turnips, and winter squash. And if you're on the hunt for the freshest fruit, look for cranberries, oranges, pears, persimmons, pomegranates, and tangerines.

Summer Camp Sessions

It's strange, but November can actually be one of the best times to enroll in summer camp. Rates are lower, as different organizations look to fill up their rosters for the upcoming summer, which means you can grab a better rate than if you try booking after the start of the new year. ESF Camps reportedly run their best rates in November and January. While alumni families tend to get in on the deal, they're also hoping to let others know the best time to purchase these rates.

Additionally, you might not think Space Camp has a Black Friday sale, but they do! This year their sale will kick off at midnight on Friday, November 29, and end at 11:59 pm on Monday, December 2. Shoppers can save $50 on Adult Space Academy and Family Space Camp, and $100 on Space Camp programs, including Space Camp, Aviation Challenge, Space Camp Robotics, and U.S. Cyber Camp.
