Don't forget Safari has a "Block all cookies" option.

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.

That's true, Patrick, but what James wants is to avoid having to log in at all,

OK, and what you say makes sense. But I don't know if one needs a cookie Or a history type tag, or which one even gets used.

What I do know, at least in my own case, if I run a utility like Onyx using its default settings, then after that, I must login and enter my password for most sites. Sometimes my login name may appear as a suggestion, but never anything like that for a password. It must always be entered.

So I really don't know where the "Remember me" option would get stored. And to be honest, I've never really looked carefully at the default settings for what Onyx is expected to do or what it clears.

At least if I cannot remember properly, it will be available in my Keychain Access.app.

In my setup, the Keychain can provide my login information, including both the name and password. And yes, when you run any "cleaner" like OnyX, it clears out the Internet history, including any remembered logins. But unless I do that, I never have to log into any website where I've been before, including this one.

The same goes for me, and the way I like it, and regardless of which browser I happened to be using.

They only ones that don't follow those rules are some of the access pages at Apple's sites which I find quite annoying, especially when they need both login AND password. And also again shortly after just having been at the same page if I want to get back in!! An unneeded PITA, and a waste of time and effort for our home situation and no way to disable it that I know of!!!

Apple's security is similar to a financial institution, which is kind of understandable given that Apple gets pilloried every time there is any kind of security issue.

is just one example, there are others.

An unneeded PITA, and an exercise in futility and exertion for our home circumstance and no real way to cripple it that I am aware of!!!

Granted, and no place for any AppleScript it seems, but maybe the delay hassle might make you think twice or more as to whether or not you might not really want to re-login and spend your money on some purchase that you may not even need.

I may only get the two questions login being a Mavericks user, but it's a real PITA when they present a question to which I have never, ever setup that really p's me off and wastes my time and elevates my patience thresholh and no doubt blood pressure!! That's just stupid!!
