Can Members time zone be changed??
Can Members time zone be changed??

I cannot see any place in my Members Profile page where my time zone can be set or changed. All I can see is:
All times are GMT -7. The time now is 07:11 AM.
For example, my last recent post is stamped 7:01 AM
The actual time where I live should have been 6:01 AM PST, and no, I'm NOT usually up at this time but had to get my wife to the airport for her 5:00am flight!!!

I'm sure I recall being able to change the time stamp of one's posts in Settings but I can't find it.
Did Apple move and hide that as well???

    Thanks,

    - Patrick

Maybe it has to do with your ISP location?

I don't remember that option when I joined.

The Settings page where you can make that change is a little busted right now, so we will have to make that change for you. However, your time zone is actually correctly set as Pacific (GMT -8), so not sure why you are seeing GMT -7. I'm seeing GMT -5 correctly being in EST.

I wondered if that goofed up page was the most likely place.

This is what I see at the bottom of the page as I started to type this:
All times are GMT -7. The time now is 09:46 AM.
It is now actually 8:52 AM PST as I post this.

So the time shown on the post is an hour out for me, Heaven knows what the actual time is for other posters:

    EDIT:

According to world timeserver, my time settings here should be:

    8:58:11 AM
    November 9, 2018
Pacific Standard Time (PST) -0800 UTC

    UTC/GMT is 16:57 on November 9, 2018

Well, at that time it was correct!!!

    EDIT:

It seems that some setting from mac-forums is still set for DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME for my time stamp going on the times showing here, as it's ahead ONE HOUR.

Did we not have the option, at least before the owner changeover, to have posts timestamped with either the actual time of the poster's post or the time relative to the readers timezone.??

This is what I see and that looks correct. Not sure why something is adding an hour for you.

I have no idea but things don't seem to appear as they should be doing. Here are the same two shots as I see them:

    Patrick:

I just checked the master data base and it correctly shows your location as Pacific Standard Time, GMT-8. Not sure what's happening to show an incorrect time for your posts, but it shows up okay for me as Ashwin has pointed out.

Just quit time traveling and stay in the present.... LOL.

Oh my God, I'm not even a Trekkie or Trekker and yet here I am being timestamped to boldly go where no one has gone before it seems.

And we all know there are some members just itching to post their comment that I'm always behind the times, but not so it seems, depending on how one looks at things.

Actually, I don't know if it is just me but something's messed up between the server and my Mac and I don't know what.

A bit odd as date and time stamps with computers are usually spot on.

PS: Posted here @ 2:00 PM PST.
