What is vBulletin ? Sorry but it seems like a factor and I donít know what it is, do we all use it or is it limited to some networks?

vBulletin is the name of the software that the website runs on.

@Patrick, non of the Notification boxes are checked in my preferences either. Iím not sure what that option is for but it doesnít stop me receiving notifications.

Yes we all interact with it (vBulletin) each time we visit the site...or receive messages from the site.

I think that we've heard from enough members confirming that they're receiving subscribed thread email messages just fine...that it's not a website software or website setting issue. It's got to be an individual member settings issue...an email receiving issue...or something else on an individual users computer causing the issue.

My personal experience is...each time this thread receives a new reply...I'm receiving a notification email.

You should really only get one notification email per thread until you visit the site again, but I also get several at once, two in the last few minutes.
Not that I mind - better one too many than missing one.

Depends on an individual members setting. One of the thread subscription notification settings is "Instantly, using email". Which means an instant email for each reply for each thread subscribed to.

If someone chose a different notification setting...such as "Daily, using email"...then a single notification email/thread/day may represent multiple new replies for each thread subscribed to.

    Nick,

That is not what I was referring to - that is yet another setting.
I was referring to the note I bolded below in the notification email.
I see that in other forums as well - one will only get one notification email for a thread until one visits the forum again.
This prevents ones inbox getting filled up with multiple notifications of the same threads if one is not visiting the forum for a while.

Rod has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Not receiving email notifications to subscribed threads. - in the Community Suggestions and Feedback forum of Apple iOS MacOS Help | Fix Mac iPhone iPad | Buying Tips | Mac-Forums.

There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again.

    @Patrick

Please don't take what I'm about to ask as an insult. I ask the following simply because I've had this happen to emails from this very forum: Is it possible that the emails are landing in your spam folder? I've had that happen and it took me forever to figure things out. For a day or two, I didn't realize they weren't coming through. Once I get things sorted out I have to go back every few months and dig them out of the spam folder again.

BTW If you have already checked that feel free to ignore this post. I might well have missed that detail as I was catching up on the thread.

Ok good deal...in post #67 above...this statement wasn't bolded...so I thought it was you making this statement...and not the statement that's included in each email notification.

    A perfectly reasonable approach, Bob.

My set up is that I get an email from each thread to which I have posted. But sometimes, I come across a thread/post/question which is of real interest to me because (a) I don't know the answer, but would like to, or (b) it's on a topic I feel I should know more about.

In that case, I use Thread Tools and add a Subscription. That keeps me abreast of developments.

No offense at all thanks Sly, and I appreciate the suggestion just in case I had missed it.

And yes I have checked by junk mailbox several times just in case something shows up there, and I have even booted up from different bootable clones with different OS versions and my email is all working from all accounts EXCEPT any recent email notifications from mac-forums.

Neither are they showing up in my shawl webmail browser page, and nothing in the JUNK mailbox or settings/rules to delete anything which to me means they are not even getting sent out or received and one reason I questioned whether there was a possibility of the site being black/grey listed.

So I tend to disagree that there is something wrong at my end, but notwithstanding a possibility that some mac-forums setting has gone goofy somehow but not from what I can read. Everything appears to be correct and set accordingly, but obviously something isn't set or doing what it should be according to what is set. Strange and annoying.

I do know I sure hadn't changed any member settings before the problem started about maybe two weeks ago.

I'm sure open to suggestions to get things working again.

Patrick, "junk" and "spam" are two different things. If Shaw has a spam filter, it might not even send it to you at all, but catch it and block it. It won't show in your webmail either. It could be that your ISP thinks the Mac-Forums site is a spammer because of the number of emails that you receive from them. And that number could have ticked up over time to some threshold.

The best way to check that is to establish a second email address somewhere (gmail, for example) and set that as the email address for Mac-forums to see if you then get your notices. If you do, then it's your mail provider. If not, then it probably is in the website itself. Personally, I would be on the former over the latter.
    Jake
