Feeler: iMac G5 17" iSight, needs repair
My first Mac, bought in January 2006, was crippled by a lightning strike. The repair estimate was over the cost of a new iMac, so I bought a new one and have the old one sitting in a closet.

It needs a new logic board and, possibly, a power supply. It does turn on and I used it for a jukebox for a short while. USB and ethernet ports are out. I will remove the HD and use it as an external drive eventually.

Would anyone here be interested in a iMac G5 iSight, 17", 1.9Ghz, in need of a new logic board and hard drive? It is dead weight to me (minus the HD) so I will entertain all offers.

    Indeed...

This model was introduced in October of '05 and discontinued the month & year I purchased it, January '06.

The model nickname is "Q87," the order number is MA063LL/A

    1.9 Ghz G5 processor, 512mb RAM
    633mhz system bus
    Superdrive
ATI Radeon x600 Pro, PCI express
    128mb DDR graphics memory

One on eBay with a cracked screen is going for $650, although it has more RAM. $500 would be lovely, but this is a semi-working computer that will need a new HD and logic board.

Let's put it this way - if someone is reading this, and you feel the need for a computer in this shape, how much would you pay for it?
