I think its important to note that the iPhone screen is smaller (and likely won't get larger) so 1.5M pixels will likely be sufficient in the face of the 2M+ pixels in phones such as the HTC One.

I've waited 5 yrs now for a 4.5" screen... Maybe I'm chasing forever. I hate the feeling.

I don't know how likely it is that Apple would change the screen for an S release. But I can't say I wouldn't be excited to have an even nicer screen.

Given how we originally got to the Retina resolution (i.e. allowing for app back-compatibility without graphical distortion by simply doubling the horizontal & vertical pixel-count from the original 320*480, with the according doubling of PPI & quadrupling of pixel density), I'm thinking someone's misinterpreted this; I suspect Apple's going to double the linear pixel count again, not the pixel density, to give a resolution of 1280x2272 (assuming a 16:9 display again, which seems logical) & a pixel density four times higher again than the 4 / 4S / 5...

All I know is I'll be getting the 5....
