You wouldn't necessarily think that a gearhead, Wintel-centric, IT-level publication would come down on the side of the good ol' Macintosh, but that's just what Computerworld has done. According to the wise and experienced Michael Gartenberg, research director for the Client Access and Technologies group at heavyweight analysts, Jupiter Research, "IT departments that can overcome their traditional prejudices against Apple may well discover that there's a new PowerBook or G5 in their future, and once they do, they may never go back to Windows."

i think many IT people are starting to switch to mac and linux, but the end users at companies are what theyre staying on windows for. thats the way for my company at least. especially most of us younger IT people

The problem is is that when new employees start work they learn Windows.. what needs to happen is that they automatically start teaching them Mac.. for one they'll learn it faster.. they'll get more done, more productivity, which equals more money for the company. PC's do indeed have most of the market share though so IT depts do need to support them, but hopefully we'll see the trend change :)
