hi Macinwin I have followed your links and the watch still won't come out of the red ! mark with the link Apple - Redirect to Apple Watch Help

so ive contacted apple they want me to take the watch in to my local apple store to diagnose the fault which im not happy about as this shouldn't happen after an update of the os but will see what they say

    thanks

Jason, sorry about the problem, but it sounds like the update went awry somehow, leave the Watch unable to boot. The store might be able to force it to reboot, somehow. Otherwise, from the link you provided, it looks like it will have to be sent in to Apple to get it booting again. Bummer.

    hi Jake

the apple genius guys decided to send it off for warranty so its a matter of waiting now up to 2 weeks for it to be returned as they don't have the diagnostic cables there to reinstall the OS on the watch :-/

now if only they did and if there was a way to get this cable ourselves maybe we wouldnt have to travel to the store to get it sorted

so as I said im now awaiting on them to get back to me when its ready

    thanks

I think the factory reset requires a cable that attaches to pins under where the strap is connected. And Apple holds those cables pretty tightly. Don't know why, but I suspect that if you had the cable you would have access to everything on the watch, which is a major security risk. But it's good that it's getting fixed.

yeah I did read up that there is a diagnostic port under the strap

but yeah your right if we all had access to such cable we would be able to save time and repair our watch ourself yes it could provide a security risk I do agree

thanks for the reply will let you know what happens

    thanks
