I'm trying to find out if one is as good as the other or better or worse. I just know that because I am partially disabled I need something to get access to as much free content as possible legally or not because I cannot afford monthly subscriptions. The only reason I have an Apple TV and a 4K Sony TV is my adult children bought them for me.

We can certainly advise you about gaining access to free content with your new Apple TV 4K. However, any jailbreaking or garnering of content other than legally can not and will not be discussed in these forums.

It appears you're in the Sacramento area of CA. You should have free access to a large amount of free over the air HD stations. Perhaps one of your adult children could rig an outdoor antenna for you. Modern HD ourdoor antennas are very capable of pulling in stations locally and perhaps from far away.
