I recently bought a dell 20" widesceen monitor, im using the screen spannig hack and am very happy with it, but i was wondering if there was anyway to dedicate all of the vram to the external monitor without shutting the screen (which would destroy the ibook lcd due to no native clamshell mode).

    thanks, jr

Well when you deactivate the screen spanning hack, it will mirror the display. I think that should require less/no VRAM since it doesn't have to calculate anything additionally. So just deactivate the hack, use display mirroring and dim your internal screen (hold F1).
