MacBook Pro 2010 - Cracked Key Replacement - Need Help :)
Just noticed that, the Enter key on my MBPro 17 (mid-2010) has a hairline crack:

I don't want to wait till it breaks into two pieces, so need to get a replacement.
The problem is it's a US layout keyboard, and most American suppliers do not ship overseas:

    MB Key

Would someone be kind enough to get one for me and post it to the UK?
I get the required funds via PayPal, if that's OK?

    Many thanks

Check here - click on the more link. There are 2 types of key caps that were used. You'll likely need to remove one to determine which type your Mac used.

Guessing they ship to the UK since they list pricing incl'g VAT. I ordered several replacement keys from them a few years ago for my '06 MBP.
I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

Thanks - great link, helped me to ascertain the keyboard is in fact type E, but I would really prefer a new key, rather than used, particularly as this is the one that get the most hits

Actually, scratch that - just placed an order: Ł7.15 delivered and I don't have to inconvenience someone

Thanks again, really appreciate your help.

The reputation system won't let me thank you though, I need to spread the joy, apparently:

    Merry Christmas!

Thanks chaps, I wasn't even looking for US keyboard keys in the UK, silly me ... even though I know I can specify the US keyboard, when ordering a Mac from Apple UK online store.

That looks as good as new, but I'm always amazed how a keyboard key can break.

Regardless a single Mum managed to do so on my old MacBook I loaned her to use somehow, and I think I've only seen one other broken key in all my 25+ years of Macing. Yet one reads about them all the time it seems.

Nice that replacements can be found.

If you look at the first two pictures, you'll see that it didn't break, but there was a hairline crack - I just didn't want to wait and see, how long it'll last like that.

The laptop is nearly seven years old, and I use it a lot. Plus, it's not like it's a caps lock key - it sees a lot more action.

A tiny imperfection or inclusion during manufacturing process, could have created a micro-stress line, exacerbated by heat from the backlit LED and the SSD below it ... and there you have it.

When I removed the old key, the crack was more pronounced from underneath the key, couple of twists and it was in two pieces.

Nothing can last for eternity you know, well ... apart from entropy.
