    Which is Faster??
    Hi,
I currently have a Macbook Pro 15" (late 2008 - first unibody) 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo. How does this processor compare to Apple's current lowest standard processor in the Macbook Air? - (1.6GHz i5)

I just want to see how my Macbook currently stands against those being made today.
    Thanks
    mrmeister

    Your Mac's Specs
    15" MBP '06 2.33 C2D 4GB 10.7; 13" MBA '14 1.8 i7 8GB 10.11; 21" iMac '13 2.9 i5 8GB 10.11; 6S
The Passmark CPU charts is a good place to start.

Use the Find function (in the Edit menu of Safari) to locate the CPU you're interested in.

It's also easier finding your specific chip if you have the model number.
You can use everymac.com for that. Here's the page for that low end MBA. Scroll down to the Processor section and you'll find it is the I5-2467M.

Thanks for your help, it appears the Air's i5 is ranked better than mine! Not by much, but still, 3 years and i'm completely outdated!

Be thankful you're not in the 90s then. If so, the new chip would be 3-4 times faster than your 3 year old computer. And really outdated. During that time, if you wanted to install any new app that just came out, you would have no choice but to buy a new computer about every 12 months.
