Mac Mini as a Backup disc
I have just got a new Mac Mini to replace my old one that is in perfect working order but not up to the demands of today's advanced photographic software; I am wondering if it is possible, however, to use the old Mini as purely a backup disk for images and documents? It seems a shame just to ditch the old Mini.

I guess it could be used for that, but it would be a waste of the entire Mac Mini. Have you seen this, What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac - Apple Support

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.
