    Wink Fixed my G5!
Just fixed my G5! I thought it was a dead motherboard, but it was: half of my ram, and a fan that was bad.

    Upgrades Done/To Do:

Flash 256MB GeForce 6200 & Install - NEED TO DO
Add 3GB of XMS 400 RAM (Silver Heatspreader) - DONE
Add 1GB of XMS 400 RAM (Silver Heatspreader) - ORDERED, HAS NOT ARRIVED
    Add 750GB Samsung HD753LJ HDD - DONE
    Replace Fan - Done
Add Black 4 Port USB 2.0 Card - ORDERED, HAS NOT ARRIVED
    Install Leopard - DONE

    It's a June 2004 Dual 2GHz.

    Congratulations.
I've always wanted to be smart, handsome and modest. But, I guess I'll have to be satisfied with two out of three . . .

So you are going to be able to get a non apple video card to work? Or by flash did you mean you were going to flash it to the necessary specifications so that it would work on the G5?

Flash a non-apple graphics card to be used. Don't really know what I'm going to use it for. I can figure something out though.

Did you ever get to use a different GPU? Was thinking of taking mine out of storage to play around with it again and was thinking of a newer gpu.

Just a quick FYI. This thread is 6-7 years old...and OP has not posted in about 5 years. If you do not get a response...this could be the reason. Would be cool if OP did respond.

Lol yeah I did notice that but figured I asked about it years ago and you never know maybe someone else who already did it would chime in.
