    Angry imac anolog boards
Well my trusty green Imac g3's analog board burned out. neye: I was told that this is a common problem with the flyback transformer. Anyway an apple specialist told me that the new board is $150! Does anyone know where to get a cheeper replacement?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply. I've tried ebay, but most of the boards are for the newer imacs. I guess I'll try to put it into a PC case Anyone know how?

    If I can't get it into a PC case, I might considere buying a B&W G3.

Ok, a good site for that is www.powermax.com . Here are some good deals, well the best your going to get http://www.powermax.com/cgi-global/g...?i=PM_CU_G3_BW

I doubt you will get the iMac into a PC case, everything is built differently. The motherboard is a different shape so wont fit into the case, and the ports would not match up with the port holes on the PC case. So a B&W G3 might do. Unless you are looking into a serious purchase, and can go for a mac mini. Its about double the price, but triple teh performance you will get out of a B&W G3... Good luck with your purchase
