(Staff Picks are deals that we consider "the best of the best.") Both weeks are extremely strong times to shop.

Still, you could have better luck shopping certain categories during Cyber Week. For example, during that week in 2018, we posted more Amazon home and garden deals than we did for Black Friday week, plus more gaming and toy deals. Black Friday week boasted more discounts on electronics, clothing, and computers.
[h=3]When Is the Best Time to Shop?[/h] Cyber Monday is by far the hottest day of Cyber Week for deals. We saw more than twice as many Staff Pick deals on Monday than we did on any other day that week, as well as more offers in general.
[h=3]What Will Be on Sale? What Will Be the Best Deals?[/h] Amazon is the biggest online retailer — you can expect thousands of deals during Cyber Week. Look for discounts on clothing, electronics, housewares, toys, tabletop games, movies, and more.
Watch for a rare book coupon during Cyber Week. In 2018, Amazon offered a $5-off-$20 coupon for physical books.
Several toy and apparel deals were among the most popular Amazon offers we posted last year. But that list included excellent bargains in a wide variety of categories, including a sofa for $189 shipped and a stellar deal on a Samsung Galaxy S9 bundled with an Echo Show, a price low by $180.One particular deal to watch for: Amazon frequently offers a rare dollar-off book coupon during Cyber Week. Last year, the coupon cut $5 off $20 purchases of physical books.

Members receive early access to select Lightning Deals, which can make all the difference for an item that's in high demand. The 2-day (or faster) Amazon Prime free shipping is a nice perk, too.

Some Lightning Deals are claimed in minutes (or seconds!), which can be stressful because shoppers can't see prices in advance. But don't worry — after you add a Lightning Deal item to your cart, you'll have a few minutes to think the price over and decide if you want it. A timer will pop up to show you how long you have to complete your purchase. Likewise, even if an item shows as 100% claimed, don't hesitate to add yourself to the waitlist. Many people who added the product to their cart may not follow through with their purchase.
Another reason to download the app is that Amazon sometimes offers discounts during the holiday shopping season to users who try out new app features. For example, last year users could get $5 off by trying out camera search features and "AR" — or augmented reality view — to see what items looked like in the home before buying.
