The 4th of July isn't just a time to celebrate American independence — it's also a chance to score excellent deals on outdoor gear, electronics, and more! Read on to learn what to expect from Independence Day sales in 2019.
[h=3]When Do 4th of July Sales Start?[/h] July 4th deals began as early as June 19 last year, with major retailers like Home Depot, REI, and Sam's Club kicking off their sales around June 21-22. We expect similar start times this year, so keep an eye out from mid-June onward. However, note that several deals will start around the holiday itself.

[h=3]Shop July 4th Deals on Electronics[/h] Independence Day sales are a great time to buy electronics. Last year, Best Buy offered serious deals on a number of items — 4K TVs started at $230, for one, and you could get up to $360 off laptops, up to $200 off MacBooks, and up to $50 off Nest products.
Other stores offer significant savings around this time, too. In late June 2018, Fry's had a pre-4th sale that took up to 70% off hundreds of items on its site. Dell Home knocked up to 40% off during its sale, which featured a Coffee Lake 17" laptop for $735, so laptop deals are bound to return this year. And Sam's Club put an HP OfficeJet Pro inkjet printer on sale for $77 as part of its 4th of July event.
Newegg's 2018 Independence Day sale offered discounts, coupons, and rebates on more than a thousand electronics and other items.
Newegg also had a massive Independence Day sale last year, with discounts, coupons, and rebates on more than a thousand items, many with free shipping. If you're looking for computer components, laptops, TVs, games, software, or anything else Newegg sells, you shouldn't miss this sale.
[h=3]Gear Up for the Great Outdoors[/h] The 4th is a prime opportunity to snag deals on outdoor equipment. Look to ****'s Sporting Goods, as it cut up to 50% off a wide selection of apparel, outdoor gear, and sporting equipment last year. Even better, it had a coupon code for an additional 20% off select fan gear. REI's 4th of July sale took up to 40% off outdoor gear — though it ended right on July 4, so don't wait to shop.
[h=3]Stock Your Closet During Independence Day Sales[/h] A variety of clothing retailers handed out deals last 4th of July, and we expect more of the same in 2019. Last year the Banana Republic Factory 4th sale knocked 50% to 70% off sitewide, with free shipping on orders of $50. Brooks Brothers took up to 40% off spring and summer apparel for the whole family. And Eddie Bauer slashed prices by 50% sitewide, besides offering free shipping on orders of $99.
Need to update your wardrobe? Eddie Bauer, Brooks Brothers, and Banana Republic Factory should offer great 4th of July sales.
Gap ran the Great Gap Sale, which saw the retailer take up to 60% off sitewide. Plus, shoppers could take an extra 40% off via a coupon code. Additionally, the retailer sold its women's GapFit faux-wrap top for $5, and satin sneakers for $16.
Macy's Independence Day sale lasted until July 8, and it featured an extra 10% to 20% off most items sitewide; you could score an additional 15% to 25% off when making a $3 donation to charity. Also notable, Shoes.com cut up to 75% off items on its site, and offered stacking coupons for an extra 25% to 30% off.
[h=3]Get Half Off Patio Furniture[/h] If you're looking for stuff to sit on outside, the 4th of July is a good time to shop. Home Depot, for example, offered up to 50% off sitewide last year, which would cover patio furniture (though larger items could incur additional fees). Lowe's cut up to 40% off patio furniture and outdoor decor. Target, meanwhile, took up to 30% off indoor and outdoor furniture, as well as some interior decor. Additionally, it offered a 15% off coupon on top of its sale.

[h=3]Watch for Deals on Apple, Amazon, and Google Products[/h] Discounts on Apple products are always hard to come by, especially if you're waiting for the company to discount products directly. However, if you're set on getting Apple deals on the 4th, you can sometimes pick up savings at B&H Photo Video and Best Buy. Likewise, we didn't see any deals directly from Google last 4th of July, but Best Buy offered a free Google Home Mini speaker with the purchase of Nest products.
As for Amazon, Prime Day could come as early as July 8 this year. If you don't see a deal you love on the 4th, wait till Prime Day — you might get lucky.

LOL, around here stocking up on fireworks is what most folks are looking forward to buying. Ranchers lock up their livestock and horses from July 3 until the 5th when everyone returns to work. The noise scares the cattle and horses along with family pets.

Our home is only one block away from the county maintenance line where setting off fireworks are condoned. Fireworks are illegal within city limits, but no one pays much attention to that.
