May I suggest for one that whoever sends this out changes the email address to something that includes Mac or mac-forums in the email address.
Like "Mac-newsletter@threadloom-newsletter,com" or "mac-forums-newsletter@threadloom-newsletter,com"

Many days when I get up in the morning, I have several hundred new emails in my inbox and I glance through the list and delete the ones that are of no interest to me at that time.
An email with a generic name like "newsletter@threadloom-newsletter,com" would have been in the list for deletion.

This may depend on how your specific email program is set up. With Apple Mail...the subject line for the newsletter is "Mac-Forums Weekly Newsletter". Shows up very clearly that way in Apple Mail on my computer.

But again...with different email apps...and different user setups...things may vary.

But so you all know what I'm talking about, click send feedback is trying to open email on my computer, which again, I never used.

Thanks for clarifying that. Naturally if you have never used email on your computer you would be asked to setup a new account.

It should be pointed out that it is not the fault of our Newsletter when you were asked to create a new account.

I don't see anything "Naturally" about that.

I use Apple Mail myself, but pretty much everyone I know uses a web based email account like Gmail or Yahoo.
Are you saying that all those people are now "forced" to configure an Apple Mail account just to provide feedback to a newsletter?

RazOrEdge only mentioned the email address and that is what I commented on.

So far I have never received a Mac-Forums newsletter so I have no idea what the subject line reads.

In any case, the much bigger problem seems to be that at least some of the members who are supposed to receive that email newsletter have never received one.
You mention Weekly Newsletter - is that just starting? Or are some of us missing more than one newsletter if it was published weekly?

Is that sarcasm? If it is, I certainly don't appreciate the comment....

And stop reading into a reply what it doesn't say. Common sense should tell you if you have never setup a mail account on your Mac that the first time you use mail, it will ask what the OP was asked.

Yes...4th issue went out this week...and the newsletter mailing is a ramping up process. Thus not everyone would have gotten week 1, 2, 3, and 4 (for example I didn't get week 1 or week 2). I believe that all members that are supposed to get a newsletter...should get one next week.

It should also be added that each country has specific rules that govern the delivery of mailings such as newsletters. For example...the UK has its rules...Canada has its rules, United States has its rules...European Union has its rules...etc. Thus it is difficult to be in compliance with all the rules in all countries. That being said...the goal is to have the newsletter be in compliance with as many specific country rules as possible...but it may be difficult to be in compliance with all.

Coming soon. Also working on a sign up area for those that want to receive the Mac-Forums newsletter...and may not be receiving them automatically.

I think you are missing my point.
Sure, if you want to use Apple Mail and don't have it set up, you have to set it up. That's obvious.

But why would the simple act of wanting to provide feedback on a newsletter force someone to set up Apple Mail.
That's what I'm getting at.
It sould not matter what mail program one uses to be able to provide feedback.
The OP is using Yahoo Mail - perfectly fine, and the newsletter is set up to force him to set up Apple Mail just to provide feedback to one specific newsletter? I think the team at mac-forums can do better than that.

Thanks for the detailed explanation - sounds good.
But setting this up also seems more complicated than I expected.
If one uses Gmail or Yahoo Mail, how would you even know where the person is located unless they tell you so you can follow any country-specific rules.

Some of the newsletters I receive have changed their format from everything in the email to just a short covering email and the newsletter itself as a pdf attachment.
Some email programs, especially if one reads them on line rather than on the Mac, makes a bit of a mess if the newsletter is more than just plain text. I know I have that problem.
The other benefit with a pdf version is that it could just be posted on the forum in some special section and members can download it - that would also provide access to old issues if required for new members.

I don't think it matters how we answer you as you always seem to find something wrong with it. Frankly, I'm rather tired of your attitude in general and quickly losing any patience that I have with you.

Take it for what it's worth.

I'm sorry you feel that way.

OK, we're done with this now. We will take the constructive feedback we've gotten and make appropriate changes.
