On several multipage forums, when I click on the next or last page icon that shows at the bottom of a thread, they often just reload and I end up on the same page. There isn't a last page as the page icons would indicate.

Is that a typical mac-forums thing or is something amiss with my iMac with Mavericks and Safari???

i.e.: in the shot below, there is no third page and clicking it or the "≥" just reloads the existing page.

Thanks

Which sub forum is it occurring on so I can look into it? Also, you might try using another browser to see if the same error is happening. I've had a lot of weird things happen lately with Safari and our forums. I usually switch to Chrome and have much better response.

Unfortunately I had just emptied my email notice Trash to those recent links, so I'll make note of those I encounter next time, unless I make time to go looking.

Thanks tor the fast reply. ;)

I just tried several multi page threads today and they all seem to be working properly and no bogus next page # showing but not working.

Maybe just a few temporary hiccups between my iMac and mac-forums but I have experienced the same problem several times previously. Anyway, they are all working well today, so far. ;)

If you run into the problem again - let them know what you have as your "posts per page" setting.

Sometimes, when a post is the first on a new page, and it gets deleted for whatever reason, it's gone but the new page number is still there.
Not saying that's what happened here but it's possible.
Have also gotten email notifications with a link and the link goes nowhere because the post was deleted.
It happens. It's just the moderators doing their job.

The first time I have ever personally had this issue.

This thread:

http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/switcher-hangout/318210-have-sign-now.html

At this time, there are 21 posts - my standard setting is 20 posts per page, so it indicates a page 2, yet clicking next or the page 2 indicator simply reloads page 1. Had to go in and change my setting to 30/pg to be able to see it. Upon changing it back to 20/pg, it once again was inaccessible.

Did not try changing the posts/pg downward.

No problem here Tom. My page setting is the same as yours and I'm still using the beta skin. This is on the iMac which is running at 2560 x 1440.

All the skins simply reload the 1st page here. Not an extension issue.

Same results with Safari, FF & Chrome.
