That seems like the patern. A lot of the new switchers are getting the Intel Macs.

The majority of the switchers aren't going to be buying PowerMacs...

Mac Mini. My first mac product EVER. I always criticized and complained about Macs. I hated OS 9, hated older OS's period, nothing was good aobut them from what I saw..

Finally buckled down and tried OS X. Then noticed bootcamp, then realized I didn't *have* to use just OS X. Then when I saw it run WinXP natively on the architexture.. Let's just say it put away all my worries.

I still run OS X primarily, but it's really nice to have dual boot.

Btw since I've had my mac mini (about a month) I've shown and converted about 6 people thus far. They first go "Mac? Eww".. then "hey that's kind of cool (size). Hey that's really cool (WinXP Native). Wow that's awesome (Os X). I should get one when I can afford it (end of convo)." :)

I was the same way for many years. I could never get the point of the one button "mouse puck" back in the day. I think it was the combo of Apple using Intel chips, Mac OS X Tiger, easier support for working in an XP network, compatibility with Office documents, etc that made me consider the switch now instead of years ago. My new (first) iMac I have now is the best thing I ever bought.

I agree with you on that one. I always used to try and find excuses to not use a Mac. Then I became obsessed with them after seeing my friend's iBook :-D. I've never bought a better computer than my Macbook.

hi

the macbook is now my proud possession. this follows my first mac
which was the imac g5.

very pleased with both of them, my daughters have a g3 and g4 ibooks.
my only niggle (there is always one) is with the battery life on the
macbook, - it's to say the least disappointing.

ages to charge and poor life, compared with the g4 ibook

kind regards

i have a 20" intel imac and it was my first mac. i guess i went back in time when i bought my g4 ibook last week. the g4 is perfectly good for what i use it for, so i had no need for an intel notebook in addition to the imac.

Yes. I've got an Intel Macmini. Faster than my iMac G5 on all native Apps. ;)
