Voted, best of luck to all..

If that dog is that wrinkled as a puppy, it's amazing to see how much more it will be when it gets older..

Kitten gets my vote. I've had too much experience with that kind of dog. Couldn't pay me to own one.

Now, I don't even know why my name is coming up in this poll as a 'newbie' here (and still learning!) - I voted for someone else w/ thousands of posts!

BUT, enjoyed the comment above about the dog! :) - my BIL actually seems to collect these Shar Pei dogs - as imagined being so inbreed, there are a lot of physical problems - however, he has an attraction for them - going next month to visit my MIL who lives w/ her son - she is in her early 90s now, SO I'll be seeing several of these 'need to be ironed' dogs - BUT, they live in Montauk, LI - thus, I'm planning to eat a lot of lobsters & also visit the wine country on the North Fork - Dave :)

Dave :)

That's a fair question Dave. Especially since any of the nominated members would be an excellent choice. MoTM isn't entirely about post counts. Even new members have something important to contribute. Ask our members, some with years of experience and thousands of posts, and they will tell you they've learned things from relatively new members.

In the end it's about sharing one's knowledge in a way that has a positive impact on the community. In short, would you want this person as your neighbor? Would you fee comfortable asking them for help?

Because I am new and don't really know any of the members I am not going to vote. :) I really have no clue who I should vote for.

I vote for Louishen.

PS: I'm not quite clear about the reason why we need to do this poll. What does it for? :) Even I usually do it, I still don't know the reason. :)

I'm sure Louie appreciates your vote..:)

The poll is for the member of the month (now every 2 months) which recognizes the effort of a particular member as seen by other members. The people that are listed have been chosen because they've made Mac-Forums better and have found to be very helpful..

You should vote, even if its because one of the Members in the Poll posted something somewhere and you remember it. Its not so much as going through the threads and see who helped out the most, but i vote purely on 1 particular post that i remembered from this particular Member.
Dont be shy and the more the votes the better the MoTM Poll is for all :)

The nomination process is based on a few things: technical knowledge, community involvement, positive association with others and overall potential. Think of it this way - we like to pick well-rounded members who are good community members who may or may not be really technically inclined. If you help out, participate and work to make positive contributions (even if they aren't technical), you're doing what we're looking for.

Because I am new and don't really know any of the members I am not going to vote. :) I really have no clue who I should vote for.
Not a problem. Take this opportunity to look at how things go down around here and keep that in mind for the next vote in November.

The Member of the Month program is designed to reward active, positive and all-around "good" members who make the community a better place. Not exclusively based in technical knowledge, the MotM reward program is designed to address that positivity and reinforce those goals for all.

Voted for the kitten. That dog has to learn not to buy his suits off the rack! (or at least get it tailored to fit!)
