I purchased a new macbook pro over the weekend since the cd/dvd drive in my current machine stopped working. There is a disc stuck inside.

I am sure someone could fix it.

I would love to get some $ to help pay for the new one.

I am open to offers, but was thinking about $300.

It has an upgraded 500 GB HD and 4 GB of RAM. It is a 13"

If you're interested, please let me know. Pictures available upon request

Thanks
Larry

Something to try (if you haven't already)....

Turn the machine with the stuck disc off.

Turn it back on and immediately press and hold the trackpad button. Continue holding until you hear the disc mechanism try to eject. At best, you may get your disc back - at the worst, you're no worse off than you were before. You may also want to try doing the same while keeping the machine tipped at an angle where the disc could drop out.

Thanks. I have tried every possible thing out there. the disc ejects from the drive, but it does not come out of the slot. something is locking it in.

Fresh install of Lion and is ready to go to whomever buys it.

For what it's worth. The title of this thread is "FS: Late 2009 Macbook Aluminum".

This computer is actually a "Late 2008" model…not "Late 2009". 13" Aluminum MacBooks were only around for one "generation"…and that was "Late 2008" (aluminum MacBooks were released October, 2008).

Just trying to help.:)

Would just like to say thanks to LSK6453 for the good deal. Already got the drive fixed. Cleaned it up, installed ML on it, and it's working like new, including the optical drive. A small part was bent, probably due to someone shoving something into the drive;P
Writing this comment on it.
Thanks:)

Wow, my wife has one of these 2008 MB's I was thinking of selling, but with 8GB RAM & 320GB 7200 HDD. I may just have to list it and see what shakes loose! Congrats on the new Mac Iggi.
