Hello all - I recently downloaded an 8Gb 1080p version of "Me Myself & Irene", that was encoded in WMV format. When I open the file, Flip4Mac naturally opens, and takes about 4 minutes to process the entire vid. When the movie plays, however, it is incredibly choppy...completely unwatchable. I tried the same thing again using VLC player instead of QuickTime, and the same thing happens - very choppy, then after a few seconds I get some pixelation and freezing. VLC's error messaging starts to complain about more than 5 seconds of video lag or something to that effect. I doubt it's a hardware issue because 1080p trailers from Apple's site play smooth as silk for me. I'm using the new revision of the MacBook Pro that was released on Tuesday - 2.4 penryn, 256mb VRAM, 2GB RAM, etc. The pixelation also leads me to believe that it's a software/encoding issue. Any ideas on how I can get this to work? I know that software that supports WMV on OS X is very limited, so is there any tweak or setting I'm overlooking in Flip4Mac, QT, or VLC?
Many Thanks!
