Trojan x 14, Virus X 2

and counting....

Friend brought me their computer Friday to work on.

I've been playing ignorant with most people for a few months, but he already knows I know what to do.

He's got a bunch of pic's on it he can't afford to lose, and I couldn't even get anywhere long enough to back them up and wipe the drive. Have to do some cleaning first.

Remembering what it was like working on Win machines again.
Think I'll continue playing ignorant.

It's been nice not having to spend 3-4 hours, a few times a month fixing computers.

Well have fun with that infected winbox - hope you get a couple of glasses of beer out of the deal

Maybe no beer, but he's a hunter... bet I can get some Quail or maybe a backstrap or two out of it.

Ended up finding 48 viruses. Looks like that took care of the auto-loaders.
A little deletion of programs that didn't show up in Add/Remove programs and registry hacking - may not have to blow it away after all.

It's looking pretty good already.
