Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if it is, how you do it?

What I want is to add a piece of video to my iMovie project and lets say that this lasts for 2 minutes and has audio. I then want to cut the picture at 1:50, dissolve to a photo BUT continue the audio from the video OVER the photos.

Every time I try and do this I just cut the audio at the same point that I cut the video picture.

How about you create the video track of 1:50. Then export it without audio. Then open the movie in Quicktime Pro and add the audio in.
