i want to but an unlocked iphone and use it on the tmobile network..does anyone know if i will but able to update the software if its unlocked...or will i have to miss out on new features becasue its unlocked?

you will have to wait for somebody to make a unlocker for the firmware eg 1.1.4

Yes you can update the firmware. but it requires you to restore the iphone first then unlock it. i just updated mine yesterday to 1.1.3 ..... as far 1.1.4 ???? i was told that was not coming out yet. anyway it won't be long before they find a way to unlock that. if you buy an iphone now. use Ziphone to unlock and jailbreak it.
