As the title says; How can I prevent iPhoto from opening and wanting to download photos that have been taken on the iPhone when I connect the iPhone to the computer?

Turn off the settings in iTunes and you'll need to disable the preference set in Image Capture as well. (applications)

To stop iPhoto from opening automatically, go to your Applications Folder. Start up Image Capture. Select CDs and DVDs from its Preferences menu. Where it says "When a camera is connected, open", chose "No application". That does it!

This little note brought to you straight out of the excellent book "iPhone The Missing Manual". Highly recommended! The above tidbit is on Pg. 217 of the August 2007 edition.
