Eject/"uneject" HD?

Hello,

Two questions:

1. If my Time Machine HD (Iomega) (iMAC/Leopard)is plugged into a switched outlet on a power strip is it wrong to shut it down without ejecting it first? (That's too much work.)

2. How do you "uneject" a connected HD (Firewire/Iomega/iMAC/Leopard) if it has been ejected?

Use disk utility to mount it.
