We usually hear the bad-side of customer service stories, but anyone got any good ones?

had the superdrive go out on my macbook after about 8 or 9 months. brought it into the same store i bought it from while i was only under the 1 yr standard warranty.

i was super prepared after tinkering with a number of things, posting a thread on this forum, and bringing a handful of cds with me. the genius was thoroughly impressed.

i had it back good as new within a few days. no problems since.

I have an earlier macbook (pre core 2) and they top case had cracked. At thi point they still had not recognized it as a defect and the guy at the genius bar said the do not cover physical damage. After taking a thorough look at the rest of hte machine it was clear that i hadnt caused it (I take very good care of my MB). so they replaced it, I think it was partially because I had the extended warranty despite the fact it was still within the first year he seemed more receptive to my issues.
since then they have come out with a more durable top case (which they have insalled for me) and I had an inverter replaced, all with no hassle. I have had similar good luck with ipods. Neither of mine have given me much trouble but when they have apple has taken care of them without incident

The LED in my magsafe connector burnt out. I wanted to get that replaced, but I figured they'd charge me for a new charger saying that it's not covered, as everyone else seems to get, so since it still charged, I figured I'd just let it go.

About a week later, my MacBook's fan would stay on constantly, no matter how light of a load I was putting on the machine, which I figured would be reason enough to take it to the store.

They figured it was the Logic board, and told me 5 days for repair, so I left my MacBook with them and headed home.

Got a call about 5 hours later that I could come pick it up. The power adapter was faulty and causing the fans to stay on. They gave me a new adapter, apologized for the problem, and thanked me for being so understanding.

I was having a problem last june where videos in any program, itunes, quicktime, vlc, etc were skipping and stuttering. I tried swapping ram, reinstalling apps, even tiger! Then i took it to the Eaton Ctr Apple store and a genius there eventually after reproducing the prob said they'd replace the logic board. Apparently there was something to due with thermal paste on the gpu/cpu not being enough. I was surprised they'd replace the logic board and very happy!
