New version of PSE for mac?

Any word whether adobe is going to release a new version any time soon. I'm delaying purchasing. I know Lightroom is good, but I want to do some minor manipulation with layers.

Have you considered GIMP? It is very good - IMHO, it is better than PSE. I would place it between PSE and the full CS3 Photoshop. It is very capable. Layers, levels, curves, all the good stuff.

March '08 MacWorld has an article about the "newly unveiled" Photoshop Elements 6.0 for $90.00 for all Macs. It may already be on sale.

I found this on the Adobe site. Sounds like it is real, but is not available until March 24th at the earliest.
