HELP! with iPhoto/iPod touch

I lost my hard drive on my Macbook but I had just synced my new iPod touch. I have all of my photos from iPhoto on my iPod, how do I get them back? Did they decompress in size to go onto my iPod or all they still full resolution? If that does not work. All of my photos are also on my apple TV. Can I get them off of there??
